"Light Is a Wave" - Right after cuing up this track I had that big goofy grin on my face that I always get when I hear something I like. I felt like I was transported back to 1982 and 1982 was an excellent year! I dig the echoing vocals and the heavy metal power chords have Aldo Nova written all over them. I swear I hear a Bryan Adams groove laid down by the drummer. When the guitar opens up I am reminded of Jon BonJovi back when he was opening for the Scorpions. Simply put, this is really good Power Pop. There is enough loudness here to get the boys rocking and enough melody to make their girlfriends squeal with delight as Joey undoubtedly bounces around the stage. The fact that his voice is good, and his band can play only adds to the equation. Give this song a listen and see if you agree.
What is the bottom line? Joey has delivered a one two punch with the release of both of these singles. Based on what I have heard, I would love to see Joey live.
Nice work Joey, well done.
