Alumni  Highlights from the past year
As we look forward to many great things to come in 2018, here is a look at the top highlights from 2017. 


KPU's Honorary Degree Recipients

Daniel and Henrik Sedin  from the Vancouver 
Canucks, Phoenix Society's  Ann and Michael Wilson, a widely recognized scholar of Indigenous education  Dr. Jo-ann Archibald, award-winning spoken word poet  Sheri-D Wilson and  Darrell Jones were all awarded honorary degrees by KPU.

BC Business 30 under 30

Chloe PopoveSaschie MacLean and  Joshua Krenus were recognized at BC Business 30 under 30 awards evening and the KPU Alumni Association was a Gold sponsor of the event.

KPUAA Alumni Brew Night 

KPU Alumni Association hosted its annual  brew night at KPU Langley. Alumni had a chance to tour the brew lab, enjoy appetizers, network, and hear about the latest craft beer trends. 

KPUAA Outstanding Young 
Alumni Award

Brittany McNeill  received the Outstanding Young Alumni Award for demonstrating academic excellence, passion for real-world experience and impact in community engagement.

KPUAA Future Alumni Award

Zerlinda Chau  was the recipient of the Future Alumni Award and was selected from over 19,000 KPU students for her hard work and dedication to KPU.

KPUAA Annual General Meeting and Networking session

KPUAA hosted a special alumni panel that included associate alumnus  Barry Hartman , CEO and Co-founder of 505 Junk, and  Josh Krenus , CEO of Alteri Insurance along with alumna  Taylor Byrom , owner and creative director of Taylorhart Designs. The session was facilitated by KPU alumna  Hayley Woodin , reporter with Business in Vancouver.

TD Insurance Affinity Partner launch 

KPU Alumni Association officially launched an affinity partnership with TD Insurance. This is part of our commitment to you and the power of your KPU alumni community.

Wilson School of Design's official ribbon cutting 
KPU started 2018 with a special event marking the official opening of a new building for the Wilson School of Design at its Richmond campus on January 3rd. There was a tour, a visit from the Minister of Advanced Education and the Wilsons themselves for the ribbon cutting ceremony. We are excited for our future alumni who will get to create and learn in this new space. See more.  

This year will also mark the 25th anniversary of KPU's music program and to honour this milestone, KPU will be celebrating and recognizing top 25 music alumni on March 24, 2018. See details

Seed funding for alumni chapters is still available. Submit your request to start a chapter by January 15, 2018 or plan an activity for your existing chapter as soon as possible to take advantage of this offer.   
Applications for KPU's Distinguished Alumni Awards are now being accepted. The award recognizes alumni who have enhanced the reputation of the university through their outstanding career, public service, community service, athletic, arts and culture, or academic achievements. Deadline to  apply is April 15, 2018.
