Did You Know: Unattended Children Policy?
One of the key services libraries provide is enrichment/educational programming for children. Programs for children ages birth-high school are constantly being updated to offer activities from story time to crafts to STEM activities. All public libraries strive to provide these experiences to all people by offering programs
free of charge.
A public library is considered a place of
public accommodation
. Wilton Library follows the state's law by requiring
all children under the age of 12 to be accompanied by an adult.
Adults MUST remain in the building even when children are attending our programs. This is one of the ways we keep programs free to all.

Miss Shayna recommends The Baby-Sitters Club: Dawn and the Impossible Three by Gale Galligan
Raina Telgemeier released the first four books of the Baby-Sitters graphic novel series and now Gale Galligan has written and illustrated the fifth book. While the drawing-style is slightly different, the writing and character portrayals uphold perfect continuity with the rest of the series. And it's no wonder, since Galligan worked as a production assistant on
Drama and understands exactly how to write like Telgemeier! This latest book deals with not wanting to share a best friend, having to baby-sit for an absent single-mother, and the complications of divorced families. This is realistic fiction at its finest!
