#INWED18 News: March
108 days to go until #INWED18
Welcome to the third #INWED18 newsletter with just over 3 months to go until the day itself on 23 June.

To date we have had a fantastic response to this, our fifth International Women in Engineering Day,  from sponsors, companies, individuals - both women and men and many other organisations. These include enquiries from across the globe, all wishing to be involved in #RaisingTheBar, our theme for 2018.  It is wonderful to hear how so many of you are planning to celebrate women in engineering and to raise awareness of the wealth of meaningful and inspiring careers across the sectors. We need to make a step change which we will continue to build on through the WES Centenary in 2019 and beyond.  This chimes brilliantly with #PressforProgress, the theme for International Women's Day (IWD) which takes place tomorrow, on 8 March, to promote thinking, acting and being gender inclusive.

I am also delighted to announce that WES is working with the Telegraph again to identify the Top 50 Women in Engineering: Returners and Transferrers. Applications will open tomorrow (8 March 2018). Details about the criteria and how to apply (including self-nominations) can all be found  here.  We wish you all the very best of luck.

Please join us in spreading the word through your networks, companies and organisations including social media. For more information, see the INWED website.

Kindest regards,

Kirsten Bodley
Chief Executive, Women's Engineering Society
