Interstate 95 to be 'drastically transformed' in region

There is more than $1 billion in planned work on roads and rails in the Fredericksburg region coming down the pike, with seven major projects on the interstate alone, according to VDOT.

VDOT invites comment on Chatham Bridge project

The public is invited to attend a design public hearing tonight (Thursday) to learn more about a project to rehabilitate the Chatham Bridge and to comment on the proposed design. The hearing is scheduled for 5-7 p.m. at VDOT's auditorium at 86 Deacon Road in Stafford.

Arts Commission accepting applications

The Fredericksburg Arts Commission administers an annual Creative Communities Partnership Grant to City non-profit arts organizations (formerly called the Local Government Challenge Grant).

New adventure-fitness event coming to City

"Take the City" -- an adventure race organized by Fredericksburg's Department of Parks, Recreation and Events -- will be held April 7-8. Twelve two-person teams will compete in at least seven challenges all over Fredericksburg, which will test them with physical, mental and emotional adventures on the City's vast history, arts and recreational opportunities. Each team will pay a $250 registration fee, with a $500 prize going to the winning team. All participants must be 21 or older. Look for more details soon.
