Our speaker, Councilman Scott Cain, will review the Samsung projects progress.

We will also discuss the Newberry Workforce Development Corporations formation and focus. This is a very important project the NBA has been working on over the past few months. We wish to present the By Laws for this new corporation and gain input from membership on the next steps to building this conduit for creation and development of a stronger, trained work force in Newberry County.

The PREP course provides specialized training for merchants and their employees who sell alcohol and tobacco products. PREP is the ONLY merchant education program available in South Carolina that covers off-premise alcohol sales practices, on-premise alcohol sales practices, tobacco sales practices, and development of manager/supervisor sales policies. The program is approved by the SC Department of Revenue and the SC Department of Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse Services.

The Bands of Newberry (NHS Blue Brigade and Newberry Middle School Band)  are selling tickets for a BBQ chicken fundraiser for 3 Feb 2018. You can purchase tickets for chickens at $9.00 ea and/or extra sauce at $3.00 per pint by going to the online sales site at http://www.bandsofnewberry.com . The last day to order is the evening of Monday, Jan 15th. Chickens will be available for pick-up at noon on Feb 3rd.
