2018-2019 Tuition
Mrs. D'Angelo sent a letter home to all families on January 3 regarding the 2018-2019 tuition adjustments. The letter can be viewed in the link below.

Financial Aid Deadline
To be considered for financial aid for the 2018-2019 school year, parents must apply using FAST.
As part of the application process, parents will use their 2016 W-2 and 1040 tax return to fill out the application. The FAST application (in the link below) needs
to be submitted by
January 19, 2018 for returning students.

Substitute Teacher
SBA welcomes Kevin Bushek as a science substitute teacher while teacher Taryn Zayas is on maternity leave. Kevin's background is as a mechanical engineer with 8 year's experience as an aerospace defense subcontractor. Kevin just completed a long-term substitute science teaching position at Holy Ghost Preparatory School in Bensalem, Pennsylvania teaching physics, honors physics, AP physics and astronomy from September through November 2017, and teaching Honors World Literature, Communications Skills, and in the summer enrichment program from May through July, 2017. Kevin also has been a substitute teacher in the Cherry Hill, New Jersey school district.
Kevin will be substitute teaching in the science department at SBA from January 8-March 30, 2018. We welcome him to SBA!

Steubenville Fundraiser at Panera Bread
On Tuesday, January 9th from 4-8 pm, there will be a Fundraiser night at the Panera Bread in Jenkintown on the Fairway.
Panera Bread will donate 20% of sales purchased with this flyer back to SBA's trip to Franciscan University this summer. You must present a physical copy of this flyer ( in the link below) or show it on your phone at the time of purchase in order for us to receive the donation. Flyers will also be sent home and posted on social media. Please join us for a lovely meal at Panera on the 9th!

Counseling & College Services
Seniors:
As you receive your college acceptances, please bring in your letters of acceptance and any merit/scholarship awards to the Counseling office. As a reminder, each Senior is allotted 8 transcripts. There is a $5.00 fee for each additional transcript.
If any colleges are requesting your first quarter grades, please come to Counseling and sign up.

Coffeehouse
The Drama Club will be hosting its first Coffeehouse on Friday, January 12, in the AP Room from 7-9 pm. The cost is $5 per person and light refreshments will be provided. All are welcome to enjoy an evening of music, poetry, and dance. Please email Drama Club President Nina Violi at [email protected]

Panther Pour
Calling all SBA Families!
On Saturday, January 13, from 7-10 pm, the SBA faculty and staff will be hosting a celebrity bartending event at the Wet Whistle (300 Meetinghouse Rd. Jenkintown, PA 19046) to support the purchase of a new panther mascot costume.
10% of food purchases and 100% of bar tips will go directly toward this purchase. There will also be raffles, 50/50, a DJ, and friendly bartending competition between faculty members.
Alumnae and families with students under 21 are permitted to enter until 9 pm. Let's have some fun and ROAR in the new year together!

Parents' Club
General Meeting
Our next General Meeting will this Thursday, January 11 at 7 pm in the AP room.
Our guest speakers will be Linda Smith and Jennifer Corrick from our Counseling department. Light refreshments, beer and wine will be served. Please join us, we would love to see you.
Gift Donations
If there are holiday gifts you have received that you do not need, please consider donating them to the Parents' Club to be used in raffle baskets for Night at the Races and our upcoming Mother-Daughter event. Please do not send any holiday themed gifts and mark you donation 'Parents' Club'.
Night at the Races
Save the Date for Night at the Races, Saturday, February 10 from 7 pm to 11 pm. Event information will be mailed out in January. You may also click on the links below to buy event tickets, horses, lotto tickets, or to become a sponsor. Event is open to the public, but you must be 21 to attend.

**Lucky Lotto tickets in conjunction with Night at the Races will be sold online and at the general meeting on January 11. Tickets are limited. The prize is $1000.**
Please return the yellow volunteer forms that were handed out at Back to School night.

. We are asking that each family volunteer for at least 2 events this year. A list of activities is on our webpage. There are student related events, Parents' Club events and Development events. We have amazing people in place in Admissions, Development and Leadership. Let's give them all the help we can.

Pawprints School Store
Freshmen Hoodies/Class of 2021-Another chance to order:
We are taking another order for "Class of 2021" grey hoodies. The cost is $40 (size 2X is $42). Orders will be taken on our online store until January 12th. We expect these to arrive at the end of January. This may be your last chance to order this item.
Mini-THON Fundraising:
Calling all students, teachers and alumnae! As most of you know, we have started to raise money for our 4th annual Saint Basil Academy Mini THON. The leaders this year are very excited to start raising money to fight childhood cancer. This year's crewneck that was sold, through the online school store, was so popular that we heard more students, teacher, parents and alumnae are interested in ordering more! All of the proceeds will go towards Mini THON. The crewneck will be sold
until January 12th. Shirts will arrive the end of January. Order online in the link below. Remember that it is For the Kids! Thank you for your support!
Attention Sophomores:
This is a reminder that the last day to order your Soph Hop shirt is this Friday, January 12th. Extra shirts will not be ordered, so order yours soon! Please order your shirt using our online store.
