Mr. Sanfilippo's Announcements
One School, One Book
It is time to kick off One School, One Book! At our assembly on
Monday, March 5, we will reveal what book we are reading and let students know about activities that are part of the One School One Book program at Bassett and in our community!
- Your youngest child at Bassett will bring home the book. (Each family receives one copy of the book.) Families are encouraged to read and discuss a chapter of the book each night together.
One School, One Book is designed to be a
shared reading experience
within our elementary school communities. Students, parents, and staff at all four Westlake City Schools elementary schools will be participating!

FROM THE PTA PRESIDENT
Liz Pirnat's Announcements
At Thursday's PTA meeting we approved funds to be used for staff grants, varying from new books, chair pockets, guest speakers, document cameras, and headphones. We also approved the purchase of additional Chromebooks.
One key reason we have Bassett PTA fundraisers is so we can provide support to the school, by funding grants and purchases such as these.
Thank you to everyone who has supported Bassett PTA fundraisers and made donations to Bassett PTA.
Bassett PTA Shout Outs
Thank you to those who stopped in at our coffee meet-up at Starbucks. It was great seeing you!
Thank you to everyone who came to the PTA meeting on Thursday night. I know the weather was horrible, but we accomplished
some important business.

We Are All Part Of The Puzzle
March 12-16
We are pleased to announce that Bassett's Artist in Residence program this year will be: "
We Are All Part Of The Puzzle." This engaging program will run during regularly scheduled art classes March 12-16.
Four students from the
Cleveland Institute of Art (CIA) will be working with Bassett students to design a collaborative piece of art under the supervision of adjunct CIA faculty member, Kristin Thompson Smith. CIA is an accredited art and design school and places a strong emphasis on making sure its students get practical experience outside of the studio.

ELEMENTARY TRANSITION SURVEY
Request for Feedback
Delegates from all four elementary PTA units and Early Childhood PTA are working together to begin designing a new PTA for our new elementary school. Our goal is to enable a strong and
seamless transition, and your feedback is important to this process.
Please complete this short survey by March 10 to help us understand traditions that are important to you and your recommendations for the new PTA. We'll use this feedback to help inform decisions related to the new PTA unit.
