Youth Circus Open House - Evendale Cultural Arts Center
Want to come see what circus for youth is like? Want to join in the fun and try your hand at the exciting skills you have seen on stage or at one of our events? Or, does your school offer an after-school circus class but you have not had a chance to take it? Here is your chance to come and meet our coaches and circus students and try out some of the circus equipment,
My Nose Turns Red offers circus classes for ages 4 - 75 in juggling, unicycle, gym wheel, stilt walking, diabolo, partner acrobatics, clowning and aerials. Specialty classes include Family Circus and Beginning Circus Arts for families to take together, Giraffe Unicycle, and a youth leadership development circus program for teens.
In addition to being able to try out the equipment, head coach Jesse AlFord will be offering two classes at the Open House - Diabolo for Pairs and Groups and Leaving the Seat Behind: Seat Dragging on the Unicycle for our more advanced unicyclists. Don't worry - there will be circus coaches to help you across the floor on a unicycle or in the gym wheel.
Love to hula hoop? We have plenty and will have them available to use. Several of our advanced hoop coaches will be there to show you how to add to your repertoire of tricks. It's not on the schedule yet but with enough adult hoopers willing to sign up we are ready to add a stand-alone class.
Other fun balance skills to try out include the rolling globe, the rola bola and the low tightwire. If you are a current student you are welcome to come and practice. We can play several of your favorite circus games
