	Queer and Mindful: The Stars, Crystals and You! Monday, January 29, 2018 2:00-4:00PM \| LGBT Resource Center Want to know what people talk about when they talk about their "chart"? Or "moon sign"? Or are you interested in learning about crystals and their healing properties? Come to the LGBT Resource Center and join us for Week 4's Queer and Mindful! We will be teaching people about astrology and reading their natal charts, as well as having a crystal healing workshop. We will be giving away crystals, bags, and astrology products to decorate as supplies last!

	Looking for HIV Activists to Join UCSD AVRC's 1st Trans/GNC Community Advisory Board! 220 Dickinson Street, San Diego, CA 92103 #A The CAB is looking for people who want to help advance HIV research in the Trans/GNC communities! 	A position for a postdoctoral research fellow is immediately available! Dr. Mark (Marki) Cayabyab is a transgender research scientist working on an HIV/AIDS vaccine and has an opening for a postdoctoral fellow in their laboratory at the Forsyth Institue. Qualified candidates must hold a Ph.D. or Ph.D combined with a professional degree (M.D., DDS, and D.V.M) in Immunology, Virology or a related field. The ideal candidate will have 0-2 years postdoctoral experience, a strong publication record and expertise in immunological assay techniques including flow cytometry, ELISA, and animal experimentation. Candidates must be intellectually curious and have good written/oral communication skills in English. The accepted fellow will have dual appointments at Forsyth and Harvard School of Dental Medicine. 	Point Foundation Scholarship The Point Community College Program inspires LGBTQ community college students to fulfill their ambitions of attending a four-year college or university. Students accepted into the program will receive up to a $3,700 tuition scholarship, admissions counseling, coaching and financial education at the Point Community College Transfer Symposium in Los Angeles, and access to the Point Foundation network of LGBTQ scholars, more than 300 alumni, and many others dedicated to seeing LGBTQ students succeed. UC Riverside February 9-10, 2017 La Familia de UCR, Chicano Student Programs, and the LGBT Resource Center of UC Riverside invite you to join Un Espacio For Our QT Community at the 2nd ¡Presente! Conference on February 9-10, 2018. The ¡Presente! Conference is a queer college conference for Latinx/Chicanx/Indigenous/PoC, with a focus on people who self-identify with the Latin/South/Central American diaspora or Brown or Indigenous. People of all genders and sexualities are welcome to apply to attend Saturday's events. Friday's opening is free and open to all. Anyone who applies by December 1 will be given priority seating! The Coming Out group is a place to meet and gain support while discussing your sexual and/or gender Identities in a confidential setting. This group is for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, straight, or questioning folks who are coming out, considering coming out or may already be out. Topics are determined by group participants and can include stress, fear, anxiety, loneliness, family/cultural issues, excitement and celebration with regard to coming out. The group is open to new members the first 4 meetings of each quarter and then closes to maintain safe space.

Andra will give a presentation on how to start your journey abroad; she will go through the different study abroad programs that UC San Diego offers, the components of a study abroad application, and an example scholarship application. The workshop will also consists of testimonials of the experiences from Black study abroad returnees.

Raza Resource Centro

Raza Resource Centro Internship

The central mission of the Raza Resource Centro (Raza RC) is to provide a welcoming and supportive space for critical programming around a broad range of Chicanx/ Latinx social justice issues where students can learn about their identity, academic and professional opportunities, and trends affecting the Latinx community. Interns are the foundation of Raza RC and are situated to be in continual conversation with career staff about what student centeredness means at UC San Diego. Students will be chosen as Interns based on their proven leadership experience, potential to contribute to the mission and development of the Raza Resource Centro, and understanding best practices in retention and graduation of Chicanx/Latinx students.

	Oasis Drop in Services The Office of Academic Support and Instructional Services offers math and science workshops to students led by a tutor who explains course concepts and encourages a collaborative learning environment. Current programs include MATH3C Study tables, located at Center Hall 375, Mon-Fri (10am-4pm). Drop in writing tutoring is also offered, where tutor and student will review writing prompts, brainstorm ideas and read papers for clarity and structure. Want to gain skills to increase well-being today? CAPS Daily Drop-In Workshops are open to all currently registered students and are held Mondays through Fridays, 3:00-4:00pm. These workshops are a great opportunity for students to who are maybe having a tough day and want to gain skills to increase well-being that same day. I'm First Forum for Undergraduate Students

In this informal, open forum, Dr. Roberto Luna from Counseling and Psychological Services will discuss topics that come with being the first in your family to attend college. Dr. Luna will also cover strategies and tips that students can apply to overcome challenges that face students who are "firsts." Themes will range from the imposter syndrome, marginalization and more. The first ten minutes of the forum will be presentation style to introduce the theme and will be live streamed on Facebook ( facebook.com/caspUCSD).
