ear St. Isidore Families,
With one of my favorite weeks of the year, National Catholic Schools Week, beginning next week, I began to think of my own Catholic education. Some things have changed so much, but some defining values will always stay the same. Catholic school children gain a love of learning, develop a deeply rooted faith, and are confident that the teacher knows who they are and that they matter. These aspects of Catholic education continue to be visible in our school every day.
We are busy preparing for Catholics Schools Week, which is an annual celebration of Catholic education in the United States. In essence, it is a week celebrating who we are as a school and community. The observance kicks off Sunday, January 28
th
after the 9:00a.m mass. Students are encouraged to come to mass in full uniform, and will receive a free dress pass for doing so. After mass, the school is open for Sneak-A-Peek. It is an exciting opportunity to spotlight what our students are learning and what they have accomplished. I invite you to bring your friends and neighbors, particularly those who may be considering a Catholic education for their children.
Please join us Monday, January 29th for a showing of the popular documentary
“Angst.”
Angst is a documentary that looks at anxiety, its causes and effects, and what we can do about it. Parents and 5
th
-8
th
grade students are encouraged to attend. There will be two showings: 2:30–3:30 p.m. and 7:00–8:00 p.m. in the St. Isidore Room. Kids Konnection will be free for those at the 2:30 showing.

Thank you to everyone who attended and invited friends to our TK/Kindergarten Open House. I love to show off our school and let people see what great things happen here throughout the day. I am amazed and humbled by the sacrifices parents make to provide a Catholic education for their children. I look forward to seeing you at any or all of our events planned for this special week!
