Youth in Worship This Sunday at 11:00

Dear Youth and Parents at Fourth Church,

This Sunday is the First Sunday of Advent, and I am looking forward to having us all together in worship at 11:00 a.m. to experience it. Two of the leaders in that service will be youth. Worshiping with the 11:00 a.m. congregation once a month is helping us feel like part of the adult congregation here, so I'm glad we're doing it, even if it doesn't feel as fun or laid back as our Sunday morning youth groups. For all of us, sixth-graders through twelfth-graders, and parents and adult leaders, corporate worship is the center of our life in the church and a primary expression of our faith, so the Sundays we spend in the sanctuary are just as important as the Sundays we spend in the Gratz Center.

There are a bunch of sign-ups happening at once right now. To sign up for the Senior High volunteer night at Ravenswood Community Services on December 12, click here; for the January 12-14 All-Youth Ski Retreat, click here; and for the January 26-28 Junior High retreat, click here.

Oh, and the summer trip sign ups are live.

I said the summer trip sign ups are live!

Find them here.

Yeah, we do sign-ups.

We're looking for some youth to rock the 4:00 p.m. Christmas Eve pageant, too. We need a Joseph, a Star Angel, a donkey, and two camels (which is actually only one camel). If you think you're the person for one of these fun roles, email Rocky before Sunday, December 17.

One last thing: chili. O n Sunday, January 7 we are holding our first summer trip fundraiser, and we need entries. This is an easy way to support the mission of Fourth Church youth as they fan out across the globe this summer: throw together a pot of chili on Saturday night and then bring it with you to church on Sunday. Who knows, you might even win the Golden Ladle! Go to this page to enter your chili and support our summer trips.

Grace and peace,

Rocky
