Preschool shares with community
In the fall, St. Paul's Lutheran Preschool, Long Beach, CA, hosted a "Back-to-School Dinner," which was free for the preschoolers and their immediate families. Over 200 people were in attendance. The volunteer team, made up of preschool staff and church members, worked hard to make the night a warm, inviting time of family, fellowship and fun. The evening commenced in the sanctuary where The Rev. Brandon Jones welcomed everyone and gave a brief overview of the parts of the Catechism that the children would be learning throughout the year. After blessing the food, Pastor Jones invited the families to assemble for the dinner, which was catered by a taco truck and supplemented by the ladies of the church and the preschool. After dinner and dessert, all the raffle winners were announced. The prizes were provided by local businesses and/or donated by preschool and church families. Rev. David Thiele, Lutheran Church Extension Fund Vice President, also donated a gift certificate for a new Young Investor Club account. The evening concluded with the families visiting their children's classrooms, where they met the teachers, saw artwork and projects, and more. This event is held yearly and is a wonderful Christian outreach for the preschool and an opportunity to share the life-saving faith of our Lord Jesus Christ with the families in the community who entrust their children to St. Paul's.

Annual Giving - Thank you!

The English District Board of Directors would like to thank all who gave generously in this year's annual giving campaign. Almost $12,000 was raised for the Endowment Fund of which the earnings will continue to help fund the mission and ministry of the English District.

As the fund continues to grow, the earnings will allow us to lend more support to our missions and church workers, which you can read about here. For giving opportunities, click here.   Thank you again, and may God bless His people as they give generously.

English District Blog

Voice of Faith, a ministry of Faith, Naples, FL, is one of the missions supported by the English District LCMS.
The outreach is twofold. First, they bring Christian congregations an awareness of the vast growth of Islam in the country and its effects on our churches. They strive to teach the truth about other religions and to train Christians to reach out into the community with love, acceptance and respect for those of other faiths. At the same time, Voice of Faith endeavors to keep youth in the Church by preparing them to become stronger Christians.

If you have a mission or ministry story you'd like to share, please submit for consideration via email to Lynne at [email protected].
