TRAVEL on FILM
TRAVELLING OVER THE SUMMER IS A FAVOURITE TRADITION...
... but sometimes it's hard to get away. We've rounded up some of the best travel movies to scratch the travel bug until you can steal away for a journey of your own.

A United Kingdom | Botswana
The true story of Seretse Khama (portrayed by David Oyelowo), the King of Botswana, who married his British wife Ruth Williams (Rosamund Pike) amidst controversy in 1947.
A United Kingdom tells their extraordinary story of overcoming the opposition of their families, Britain and South Africa. Seretse Khama would later become Botswana's first president, overseeing a period of great economic and social progress.  Of course, Botswana is one of the main stars of the film.
Check out our new  Cape, Desert & Delta Odyssey  -  encompassing the best of African culture, scenery & wildlife!

Queen of Katwe | Uganda
Another true and inspiring story of a young girl (Phiona Mutesi) from the slums in Katwe outside of Kampala, who learns how to play chess and becomes a Woman Candidate Master at the World Chess Olympiads.
The film was shot entirely in the slums of Katwe in Kampala, and in Johannesburg, South Africa with over 100 Ugandans working as extras.

Lion | India
Based on the real life story of a 5 year old boy, who f ell asleep on a train and ended up 1,000 miles from home. It follows his journey from Indian street-child to adopted Australian. As an adult he sets out to find his lost family and finally returns to his first home in India.  This Oscar-winning film 4 features Dev Patel and Nicole Kidman and  showcases India.

On a personal note, my travel calendar is filled with new and exiting destinations too!
First up is a week in  Morocco , where I will brain-storm with travel industry leaders to create life-enriching and experiential journeys for the sophisticated traveller. Watch this space!

October finds me in  Italy  - exploring cities and scenery, eating pizza and Gelato,  tasting lots of wine,   marvelling at the architecture and art - but mostly savouring time with my daughter on her graduation trip!

With all these trips, who will take care of you - my most valued clients? Not to worry!  My new assistant,  Zanny Muller  will do the heavy lifting, while I will always be in touch via e-mail.

Enjoy the rest of our beautiful summer, and I hope to see you at our Africa Night in September!
