Superintendent Koligian's Quarterly Message to our community
Dear Folsom Cordova families and community:

As we all settle back into the rewarding routine of supporting student success, many of us are likely already reviewing our progress in meeting personal and professional goals we set for ourselves in the New Year - seeing what's working, where we can adjust our strategies, and making tweaks to our game plans.

One of my goals for 2018 will be to continue visiting our classrooms this spring, as well as our local community organizations and parent groups. Each time I leave inspired and learn something new about what makes our school communities stand out.

This outreach also allows our leadership team to gather and act on valuable input from all stakeholders: employees, families, students, and community members.
Cordova earns prestigious education grant to support theater
Cordova High School's Drama Department has been honored by the American Theatre Wing, best known as the creator of the Antoinette Perry, "Tony" Awards with a classroom resource grant for $12,000 from the Andrew Lloyd Webber Initiative.

The Drama Department plans on using the grant to produce Cordova High's first musical in 20 years, "The Little Shop of Horrors." Opening day of the musical will be April 12, 2018.

A lot goes into producing a musical, so with this grant money they'll be able to purchase show royalties, microphones, and materials for the sets and costumes for the actors. This will allow for more a more elaborate sets, costumes and technology in future shows produced.
