A One-day Adventure...
Hail Mary.... full of snow, our school adores you!
Here is the view from the kitchen window today, as I compose my weekly message! We hardly had the chance to reacquaint ourselves with one another before the snow and cold weather set in, making for the shortest school week in history! At least our faculty enjoyed a two day week, as we opened our new year with a wonderful retreat day on Tuesday. Our 2018 is off to a slow and snowy start, and I think it is safe to say that we are ALL looking forward to the schedule of a full week of academics and activities! God bless....stay warm and safe this weekend!

Tuesday, January 16th , is an additional Professional Day for our teachers and will result in NO SCHOOL that day for students. Due to the addition of this Professional Day in January, we will be eliminating the day we had scheduled for March 23rd. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding as we take advantage of a wonderful grant opportunity for our teachers to be trained in "Responsive Classroom" approaches.

The ADVENTURE begins!
With only 112 days remaining until the largest fundraiser of the school year, we ask that you consider the following:
  • Do you know a business owner that may be interested in a sponsorship opportunity for this year's gala?
  • What businesses or connections do you have that might result in a donation of some kind?
  • With the Gala Family Challenge right around the corner, what items might you already have that might make great auction items... or might you consider taking advantage of the after Christmas sales?
Thank you in advance for your support!
Coming this year to CATHOLIC SCHOOLS WEEK!
Attention Parents!  This year during CSW, we will be hosting an awesome event that will be tons of fun and will also raise funds !  The St. Francis Fun Run is  a 9-day program that kicks off with a Pep Rally on Monday, January 22nd . Families will then gather pledges for every lap your student runs (30-35 laps), and we’ll celebrate at the Fun Run on Wednesday, January 31st.

Our hope is to raise enough money to increase the technology at the school, as well as begin raising funds for this year's Call of the Heart, which is being earmarked for a new playground.  We asked the Fun Run experts at Boosterthon to power our Fun Run and make it more profitable, easier, and super fun.

Students will also experience an amazing character theme, CASTLE QUEST ! an English castle theme all about being brave and living with character. On their quest to regain Bravemore Castle, students will learn the “SIX VIRTUES of a TRUE HERO” from a cast of colorful characters.

Please help our school by reaching out to friends and family to sponsor your child's run. Also, all families are invited to come out and cheer on your student at the Fun Run! Thank you in advance for your support!

Did your phone ring at all?
Or did too many of your phones ring?
Please contact the school if for some reason you did not receive the school cancellation phone calls, or if you would like an adjustment on how many of your phones ring to announce the school message.
While SchoolMessenger is only one of the methods used to communicate school cancellations, it is important for us to know that the system is working and is reaching all of our school families.
Thank you!
Please join us in welcoming our new Preschool teacher,
"Miss G"!
We are so pleased for Mrs. McKenna to start off the New Year back in her well-deserved retirement...and very grateful for the extra time she gave to us, so we could find the perfect fit for our school. Miss Nakita Guerrouxo (Grrr-OX-oh) has taken over her section of Preschool 4 for the remainder of this school year. "Miss G" has lived in Massachusetts for her whole life, and is a Fall River native. She attended Bishop Stang High School and Rhode Island College, where she graduated with her Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education. Although new to Saint Francis Xavier, she has previously taught 1st, 3rd, and 4th grade in Providence, RI. It is her mission to instill a love for learning and Faith in her students, so that students develop a desire to become life-long learners and to love school. Welcome aboard Miss G!
