Confrérie de la Chaîne des Rôtisseurs
"Venice is like eating an entire box of chocolate liqueurs in one go." - Truman Capote
Cher Confrères et Consœurs,
Since their transition from Babylon earlier in 2017, Il Mulino has quickly become the go-to place for the most authentic Italian cuisine in the Triangle. So join us for a richly rewarding gastronomic journey across the Italian culinary landscape as we celebrate the season of Carnevale. The intrepid adventurer will be rewarded with simple yet sumptuous cuisine, wines, and a culinary education in the history of Italian cuisine, all in a very cozy environment of the historic Melrose Knitting Mill.
The evening will begin with a welcome Lambrusco and cicchetti, before we gather for a brief induction ceremony for the newest members of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and Société Mondiale du Vin.
Don't expect any Penne alla Vodka or Fettuccine Alfredo on the menu! Neither dish has a place in Italian culinary tradition. Instead, our menu will consist of several courses of authentic recipes celebrating the creativity and diversity of Italian cuisine. Of course, the wine pairings will be equally special!
Be prepared for some special vintages, as we present some lesser-known grapes not usually found on menus in the USA!
Dress code for the evening is Black Tie or Dark Suits for men, and Cocktail Attire for the ladies. In the spirit of Carnevale, guests are also welcome to accent your attire with a traditional mask, fan or other accessory.
The price for this evening is $155 per person, and is a great opportunity to introduce your friends to the Chaîne. So spread the word to your fellow connoisseurs and gastronomes!
