We're humbled and honored to once again be nominated for best bike shop in the DMV. Last year, thanks to the best customers on the planet, Proteus won Best Bike Shop and Best Social Ride (Coffee Ride)!
Voting is open now through midnight February 2nd. You don't have to be a WABA member to vote. If you're not a member, we encourage you to join. Through their education and advocacy efforts, WABA is a big reason why bicycling is getting better and better in our region.

For example, a performance tune, normally $160 is $80 and a standard tune, normally $90 is $45 for FS2018 riders.

*Freezing Saddles is a winter riding competition for bike riders in the general DC area, organized by random people who talk to each other on the Washington Area/ Bike Arlington Bike Forum. It runs from January 1 to the last day of winter with the idea of encouraging folks to ride all winter, even on the coldest days! Sign ups ended in December, so if you haven't signed up, you're out of luck for this year.
New Adventure Bikes From Jamis and Kona Arriving Soon!

It's no secret that the Renegade is one of our favorite bikes - Laurie and Patrick ride Exploits and Jeff rides an Expert. So we're super excited to get the all new 2018 Escapades in next week. Same Reynolds 631 steel that we love in the Exploit, but upgraded to Ultegra drivetrain and hydro disc brakes with smaller brake hoods. Give us a call to set up a test ride!

Look down that road -- It's a road bike! It's an adventure bike! It's a Rove NRBDL!! This nimble, light, aluminum frame bikes comes with a carbon fork, 650 x 47c tires, ultegra/105 drive train, and shimano hydro disc brakes. Quick like a road bike, but rolls smoothly over everything! More sizes arriving next week!

*alternate location if Board & Brew is closed is The Bagel Place.

Saturday 1/27, 10am-2pm -- Social Ride to Bar Roubaix!

Hey hey hey - let's try Bar Roubaix! This new DC restaurant/bar is bike-centric. They open at 10:30 on Saturdays, so it's a perfect destination for this week's Saturday social ride. Brett is leading. The ride is about 12 miles each way, and there is some riding on hilly city streets, so it's not a good beginner ride. Bring cash/cc, lock. Helmet required.

Sunday, 1/28 -- 9 -11am - Mountain Bike Ride

Sunday morning weekly Fairland MTB ride!  Rides are led by Laura our service manager (an experienced mountain and cx racer). Intermediate terrain. Mountain bike recommended (no road bikes or hybrids please). Helmet required. Meet in the back corner of the parking lot behind the Gardens Ice House (trail head) at Fariland Regional Park.
