Volunteers and Parking—Important Note
Thanks to all who have graciously volunteered to work at the event. If possible, please do not park in the church parking area during your shift, to save spots for our guests. There is plenty of parking, with no time restrictions, just north of our upper parking lot off of Paseo de la Playa. Of course you may need to park while dropping off items, but after that it would be much appreciated if you would move your car. Thank you for your consideration in this area.
Our Students!
We are happy to announce that one of our students graduated from UCLA last year with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and another graduated from UC Davis with a degree in Genetics and Genomics! Since starting the SFOSF we have mentored and financially helped six individuals reach their dream of a Bachelor’s degree. Currently, we are coaching and providing financial support for two senior level students, three junior level students and two additional students currently enrolled in California colleges.
Richard Tucker
And enjoy this letter of thanks from the Counselor at Narbonne High, thanking us on behalf of her students:
I had the privilege of having breakfast with Jenny Gomez last weekend and she informed me that she is graduating in May. I have also spent some time with Richard (photo right) lately when he visited from New York and he also mentioned how fortunate he was to have met you and it was because of him that I have been able to send a few wonderful children your way. I wanted to personally thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping my kids. Because that's what they are to me, my extended children.

Sunday March 4 - Second in our Series of Anglican & Episcopal Spiritual Writers - George Orwell.
Adult Formation Series Led by our Lay Leaders,
You may or may not know that there are many well-known writers in history who were devoted Anglicans and Episcopalians. Come and out more about their lives, their writings, and their faith journeys. We hope you will be inspired by their lives and inspired to read their works.
This Sunday - March 4 - George Orwell (Gayle Taylor)
Orwell was an atheist who identified himself with the  humanist  outlook on life. Despite this, and despite his criticisms of both religious doctrine and of religious organizations, he nevertheless regularly participated in the social and civic life of the church, including by attending  Church of England  Holy Communion.
March 11  - Dorothy Sayers (Peter Marshall)

Karl Jenkins' Stabat Mater
St Francis Choir and Orchestra Present
Stabat Mater”  By Karl Jenkins, Sun, March 25, 4:00pm
Written by contemporary Welsh composer Karl Jenkins, the beautiful and dramatic  Stabat Mater brings us to the foot of the cross to stand with Mary, mother of Jesus. Jenkins uses the traditional 500-year-old text of the Stabat Mater (in Latin) along with other texts in English, Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek. Texts on a screen above the choir, plus artwork, will bring the words to life. Presented as part of our Holy Week journey because it so vividly brings into focus the sacrifice of Jesus, and the adoration of all who love him. There is no admission fee. A free-will offering will be received to offset the cost of this program.
