2018 UNITED WAY GRANT RECIPIENTS

Marshfield Area United Way will invest $539,000 in community programming over the next twelve months through allocations to local health and human service programs.

Allocations to programs were recently approved by United Way's Board of Directors upon recommendations made by the Allocations Committee. The committee is comprised of approximately thirty community volunteers formed into three review panels. The panels reviewed program applications and interviewed agencies requesting funding to measure effectiveness and efficiency of the program, and to ensure the program aligns within United Way's focus in the areas of education, financial stability, and health.

The 2018 grant recipients are:

MAKING AN IMPACT...

After 17 years of service to the business she was working for, Sue was told the building had been sold. She was suddenly homeless and without a job. Sue didn't know where to turn until she heard about Mary's Place. She promptly went to Mary's Place and was taken in. From there, Lanny, the Director of Mary's Place, guided Sue and referred her to various resources available to her in the community. Sue quickly found a couple of part-time jobs and is making progress toward becoming self-sufficient once again. "If it wasn't for Mary's Place and Lanny I don't think I could have made it," said Sue.

Mary's Place Boarding House provides safe, clean and dignified housing for low-income, no-income individuals in the Marshfield area. Your gift to United Way helps provide transitional shelter with supportive services to homeless individuals in our community. Your generosity is making an impact in our community.
