All students in third grade through high school take AzMERIT in reading, writing and math each spring. For high school students, these assessments are given as "end of course" exams in English 9, English 10, English 11, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II.
Our schools will finalize and publish their testing schedules in the coming weeks, but the overall testing windows are between April 2 and April 13 for writing and between April 2 and April 27 for reading and math. While our teachers work very hard to ensure students are prepared for the tests, there are many important things parents can do to help, starting by learning about what's being assessed and reviewing sample questions with your student.
