The Romance of Sequim

It's almost February and hearts are everywhere!  Valentine's Day and the long Presidents' Day weekend are great reasons to start thinking about a getaway, and Sequim is the perfect destination.  It's still winter, but the clear and cold days give us a promising glimpse of the spring season ahead.  Charming and friendly, Sequim offers our visitors a much needed break from the stress of big city life.   So take advantage of January 30, National Plan for Vacation Day, and design a romantic visit to Sequim.  Our website has everything you need to plan your trip.

Things to do on Your Visit
Enjoy a  really good meal!  The restaurant options in Sequim continue to expand.  In the past year an italian restaurant, a kebob house, a seafood bar, and a tap room have all opened in downtown Sequim.  These new establishments join the rich array of farm to table restaurants and diverse ethnic offerings already in Sequim.  Bring your appetite, because you'll want to visit them all.

Sequim has a wide variety of dining options to fit every appetite. Tedesco's Fresh Italian opened late 2017.

Indulge in Red Wine & Chocolate.  The Olympic Peninsula Wineries are holding their annual Red Wine, Cider, and Chocolate event February 10 & 11 and February 17 -19.  Visit nine wineries and cideries across the Olympic Peninsula including Sequim's own Wind Rose Cellars.

Visit Sequim's Wind Rose Cellars on the Red Wine & Chocolate tour.

Take in a theatrical event.  Olympic Theatre Arts is hosting Shakespeare's Sonnets and Love Poems on February 14 just for Valentines Day.  Throughout the month "Time Stands Still" will be on the theatre main stage.

Presented with love in mind, "Shakespeare's Sonnets and Love Poems."

Go for a romantic stroll.  Walk along the Dungeness Spit out into the Strait of Juan de Fuca or along Sequim Bay at Marlyn Nelson Park.  Walk or bike the Olympic Discovery Trail and visit the Railroad Bridge Park and Olympic Peninsula Audubon Center.  Or, relax and just stroll through town and visit Carrie Blake Park and Sequim's locally owned boutiques and shops.

The Dungeness Spit stretches 5.5 miles out into the Strait of Juan de Fuca.
