It is with great sadness that I inform you that Ward 1 Councillor Jim Tovey passed away suddenly on January 15th.

 

Councillor Tovey was a strong advocate for Ward 1 and worked together with Council and staff to make this City a more liveable, vibrant and connected community.  On a personal note, I truly enjoyed working with Jim and considered him a good friend.  He will be deeply missed.

Regional staff are currently working towards an approach to regulating retail business closures on statutory holidays as permitted under the Province's Retail Business Holidays Act.

 

Regional staff will be undertaking consultation with the public and stakeholder groups to assist in developing a recommended approach to regulating retail business closures on statutory holidays.

 

In collaboration with UrbanMetrics, the online survey below is available to assist in gathering input from the public.

In addition, a public workshop will be hosted in Mississauga on February 21st to provide more opportunity to gather public insight. The details are listed below. 

Effective Monday January 15, 2018, the following 2 bus stops have been removed from service:

• Stop #0627 Eastbound Eglinton Avenue at Dixie Road (SW corner)
• Stop #2036 Westbound Eglinton Avenue at Dixie Road (NW corner)

All boarding and alighting for Routes 7 and 35/35A will occur on the east side of Dixie Road as shown on the attached file.  Route 87 patrons will have to utilize Route 35/35A going forward.
