The Lord Works and Communicates
Verse 6: "The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed."
He is fully aware of what is going on. Isaiah 54:17
"'no weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and this is their vindication from me,' declares the Lord" (NIV).
In Paul's farewell message to young Timothy in 2 Timothy 4:17 he says: "But the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me, in order that through me the proclamation might be fully accomplished, and that all the Gentiles might hear; and I was delivered out of the lion's mouth" (NASB).
Paul immediately looks to the future in the next verse. "The Lord will deliver me from every evil deed, and will bring me safely to His heavenly kingdom; to Him be the glory forever and ever. Amen" 2 Timothy 4:18 (NASB).
Oswald Chambers said: "The weakest saint can experience the power of the Deity of the Son of God if once he is willing to 'let go.' Any strand of our energy will blur the life of Jesus. We have to keep letting go, and slowly and surely the great full life of God will invade us in every part, and men will take knowledge of us that we have been with Jesus."
Verse 7:
"He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel:"
The Lord "works" in verse 6 and He communicates in verse 7. How is it that "The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed"? A tremendous illustration of that scripturally is : "He made known his ways to Moses, his deeds to the people of Israel."
It is very interesting in Revelation 15 that we have, just prior to the pouring out of the 7 bowls of God's wrath, a return to this very same song of Moses from Exodus 15. Revelation 15:3, 4: "And they sang the song of Moses the bond-servant of God and the song of the Lamb, saying, 'Great and marvelous are Thy works, O Lord God, the Almighty; Righteous and true are Thy ways, Thou King of the nations. Who will not fear, O Lord, and glorify Thy name? For Thou alone art holy; For all the nations will come and worship before Thee, For Thy righteous acts have been revealed'" (NASB).
We say with a resounding YES! "The Lord works righteousness and justice for all the oppressed."
The words of Isaiah and of young Samuel come to my mind this morning. Isaiah 30:21: "Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you saying, 'This is the way; walk in it'" (NIV).
1 Samuel 3:10: "The Lord came and stood there, calling as at the other times, 'Samuel! Samuel!' Then Samuel said, 'Speak, for your servant is listening'" (NIV).
