Looking Toward this Sunday January 21, 2018
3rd Sunday after Epiphany

Scripture Lessons: Jonah 3: 1-5 and Mark 1: 14-20
Sermon: God's Call to Love Unbound

Scott Kenefake will preach at 8:30 and 9:45 in Lingle Chapel and 11 in the sanctuary.

This week we'll look at the "call" that Jonah received from God to preach repentance to the people of Nineveh and the "call" that Peter, Andrew, James, and John (the first disciples) received from Jesus to "follow" him.  There are similarities and differences between the stories, but the important question for us is: "What were they (and we) being called to?" The answer will likely be surprising to many-and the implications are great for both church and society!

The Geneva Choir will sing The Glory of the Father at the 8:30 service.

The Chancel Choir will sing I have Longed for Thy Saving Health at the 11:00 service.

The congregation will celebrate the Sacrament of Baptism  with  Conor Joseph Gorman, born November 23, 2016, son of  Colin and Dorothy Gorman.

CALLED SESSION MEETING   A brief meeting will be held at 10:30 a.m.this Sunday , January 21, in Jetton Hall.
