Library Closure
Monday, February 19
The library will be closed February 19 for President's Day. The library will reopen Tuesday, February 20 at 9 a.m. Enjoy your holiday!

Parent Toddler Workshop
Fridays, February 2 - March 2, 10 - 11:15 a.m.
In this 5-week program, you'll have fun with your toddler while you play with toys, read, and create a fun craft. Ask community resource professionals about early literacy, speech and hearing, physical fitness, nutrition, and behavior.  For toddlers (18-35 months) and accompanying parents or caregivers.
Registration REQUIRED.

Adult Winter Reading Program
February 1 - March 30 
Stop by the 2nd floor desk to pick up your reading log, then chill with some good books. Read 3 books and you're done!  For ages 18+.
Registration REQUIRED. Stop by the second floor desk beginning February 1.

The Write Hour
NEW Workshop Time! First Thursday of the Month
Thursday, February 1, 4 - 5 p.m.
In this monthly drop-in writing session (now presented by Lighthouse Writers Workshop), experiment with different storytelling forms. Use an envelope to learn about the parts of a story, put together a collection of story poems, write letters and create journals from the perspective of fictional characters, and even write and perform your own plays.  For ages 8-11.
Pick up a free ticket beginning 30 minutes before the program.

Discovery Lab: Green Screen Special FX iPad Lab
February 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, & 27, 4 - 5 p.m.
Put on your director's hat and create your own video with the library's green screen! You can register for as many of these sessions as you like.  For ages 9-14.

Open Space Speaker Series
Wednesday, February 7, 7 p.m.
Making a Living and a Life: A New View of Environmental Careers - How can environmental principles and concerns be connected with ALL careers, not just those we normally think of as "environmental careers"? Can our livelihoods nourish us and the living systems upon which we depend? Join Martin Ogle, founder of Entrepreneurial Earth LLC, to explore these questions.  For all ages.

Calcium and Bone Health
Wednesday, February 28, 6 - 7:30 p.m.
Come chat with our city dietitian to discuss the amount of calcium you need, ways to get enough in your diet, and safe options for supplements. We'll compare the many kinds of milk in today's dairy aisle and discover which option is right for you.  For ages 18+.
Registration REQUIRED.
Cat's Hat Reading Program
March 1 - March 31 
All children up to age 12 are invited to participate! Read 3 books at your reading level, write the titles of the books on a Cat's Hat tally sheet, and put it in the Cat's Hat on the desk in the Children's Library. Prize winners will be chosen at random after the program ends to receive a Seuss-tastic prize!  For babies (birth) to age 12.
Pick up a tally sheet in the Children's Library or download one from the Children's website beginning March 1.

Women's Self Defense Workshop
Thursday, March 8, 6 - 7 p.m. 
Ladies, please join us for a class with certified instructors to learn real life, no-nonsense, effective self defense techniques in a safe environment. For ages 18+.
Registration recommended.

Volunteers Needed for Día de los Niños
Thursday, April 26 from 6 - 9 p.m.
AND
Saturday, April 28 from 9 a.m. - 9 p.m.
The Children's Library is looking for volunteers to help with our Día de los Niños Celebration! We need ticket table volunteers and ushers for the Dance Arts program on Thursday, April 26 from 6 - 9 p.m. We also need volunteers for Saturday, April 28 to perform story times in all languages, to help with arts, crafts, dance, and science activities in slots from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., or to run the ticket table/usher for the Fiesta Colorado performance from 6 - 9 p.m.

Broomfield Auditorium
Creative Broomfield presents Lionheart Youth Theatre's Petra and the Wolf. Staging and Puppetry By Glass Half Full Theatre. Original score performed live by Mother Falcon.

With captivating large-scale puppetry, this original work introduces the mischievous but fearless Petra, the granddaughter of the fabled Peter. When a wolf threatens her home and animal friends, her adventures become a showcase of bravery and compassion.  Best for 1st grade and up. All ages welcome.
