CALIFORNIA ARTS COUNCIL MEETS THURSDAY IN IRVINE
OC ARTS COMMUNITY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND

The California Arts Council, our State's arts agency, will hold its regular bi-monthly meeting here in Irvine on Thursday, January 25, 10 am to 4 pm.   The meeting will take place at the new OC Music & Dance Center, 17620 Fitch Avenue, Second Floor, where Arts Orange County also has its offices.  Directions here. There is a public comment period scheduled to begin at approximately 11:30 am, with speakers limited to 2 minutes.  "We strongly encourage local artists, arts organization representatives and arts concerned citizens to attend this meeting," commented ArtsOC President & CEO Rick Stein. "It's valuable to observe the serious deliberations given to handling the State's investment in arts and culture overseen by this body and it's important to show the Council that Orange County has a robust arts ecology that merits their investments here." Presently, no Council member is a resident of Orange County, the last having been local attorney and arts patron Wylie Aitken, who served for five years, including two as Chair through 2016.
