Celebrate NJ Makers Day!
Dear Library Member,
The Library is preparing for the fourth annual
NJ Makers Day, taking place this year on
Saturday, March 10, and showcasing our Idea Farm makerspace and popular maker culture.
Between 11-3 pm there will be hands-on activities for makers and creators of all ages. We'll have craft projects, robotics demonstrations, tech take-apart sessions, tours of the Idea Farm, 3D printer and electronic demonstrations, and giveaways throughout the day. Highlights include Google Cardboard for adults, LED origami bookmarks and special activities led by the Old Bridge Boy and Girl Scout troops. Some programs will require registration and a final schedule will be available shortly; patrons are encouraged to consult our
website,
Twitter or
Tumblr accounts (#OBPL) for updates and registration.
NJ Makers Day is a celebration of maker culture across New Jersey and each year connects more and more individuals with libraries, museums, schools and businesses that support making, tinkering, crafting, manufacturing, and STEM-based learning. I hope you'll be able to join us for this stimulating and enriching event.
Have a spectacular week. Hope to see you at the Library!

Luckenwalde, Germany Public Library
The empty railway passenger building in Luckenwalde was renovated in 2008 to house the city's public library. The project includes the addition of a new building (pictured above) to the complex to house library services for children and young people. It features a
striking facade with a shimmering golden, imbricated surface. T
he library helped not only to stabilize the structurally-weak surroundings of the railway station, but to help forge a new identity for the area.
