DC Fly-in a Huge Success
CompTIA DC Fly-in
The CompTIA DC Fly-in February 13-14, 2018, was a great success. Over 100 TECNA-affiliated Members and industry representatives attended the CompTIA DC Fly-In including a robust presence of our Canadian Member Councils! Thank you to all of our members who attended and participated in TECNA's opening Reception Monday evening, February 12.

DC Fly-In Attendees met with congressional members, participated in the Tech Policy Summit and the Capitol Hill Speakers Series. The CHANCE in Tech Act built momentum after being introduced in 2017 following last year's fly-in and presents an important opportunity to create a stronger pathway for apprenticeships within the technology sector. Plus CompTIA honored Steve Zylstra, President & CEO, Arizona Technology Council with the Tech Champion Industry Award at the annual awards dinner.

Strategic Partner News
Slavic 401k  shares that high-frequency and other computer-controlled trading strategies are believed by some to have exacerbated the recent swings in the stock market. However, the rise of automation in the financial industry also appears to have helped many retail investors refrain from making emotional, knee-jerk portfolio changes. In this recent blog post, read "How Robo-Advisers Can Help Many Investors."
One Beacon shares that the adoption of drones-or unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)-has expanded across industries and recreationally in recent years. This proliferation has necessitated FAA regulations for public safety. However, these regulations are seen as a hurdle by drone owners and operators because of the mandated restrictions. Manufacturers also claim it has hindered market growth. For additional insights we invite you read this recent blog post titled: "Recreational Drones: What You Need to Know" authored by Technology Risk Control Specialist Elizabeth Marazzo.
