The countdown is on to the first of three preseason Saturday’s at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome powered by Lincoln Tech. March 17th, 24th, and 31st are the important dates for all racers at the Home of the World Figure 8. Pits open at 11am with continuous open practice running from 12-5pm. Pit passes will be $20 per person with free spectator admission starting at noon. Several things can be taken care of on these occasions.
CAR NUMBERS - All teams are required to register for their car number before any on track activity. Cars must be present and in the pit area to get a 2018 car number. Drivers will also complete a W-9 in prize money divisions during registration.
PIT LICENSES - Whether you are practicing or not, these days are the perfect time to get a 2018 pit license. Licenses are $50 each and save you $10 a night off the regular season non-members weekly pit pass price. Getting your license early saves you precious time on opening night.
RESERVED PARKING - Two types of reserved parking are available. Pit spots for a team’s truck, trailer, and race car. While there is plenty of free pit parking, some teams prefer a reserved spot ($200 each). Front parking spaces are also available for an individual’s street vehicle ($100 each). Both types of spots are in limited supply.
TIRES - Late Models and Stocks will once again run the 8” slicks from Hoosier Racing Tire. These are the same compound as last season. Joining the Hoosier Tire brigade are the Adult and Junior Faskart divisions. Tires are also available during the week at the pit office.
TECH - These Saturday’s are a great time to take a preseason trip thru the tech inspection area. Teams can learn about any fixes needed before the first race of the year on April 7th as well as ask any pertinent questions about your race car to our tech staff.
