Junior High Students Join Fairmont Prep White-Out Spirit Event
Junior high students from all three of our Fairmont preschool through 8th grade campuses filled the Fairmont Prep Academy gymnasium for "White Out" Spirit Day to cheer on both varsity basketball teams: the Lady Huskies and the dunking-wizards Huskies!

Our junior high students were treated to box lunches and then a slam-dunk competition by the towering giants from the boys team prior to the Lady Huskies game. The contest started with a bang ---   three straight brilliantly executed dunks! The crowd was going nuts! It felt like they were watching the LA Lakers!

After the girls game, all three schools participated in a basketball shooting competition. Each four-member team consisted of one student from 6th, 7th, and 8th grades plus one teacher or staff member. The day ended with the varsity boys game. Both teams won their games!

It's Time to Personalize Your Child's Yearbook!
You can now add your child's name and grade to his or her yearbook, and then you will be able to sort through past yearbooks more quickly when you spend hours taking a trip down memory lane!

This is a great way to personalize your student's yearbook ---   not only will his or her name be on the cover, but you can also add up to four icons that hold special significance from this school year. Your child can choose a basketball, a football, a volleyball, ballet shoes, a music symbol, an icon for drama, and so many other wonderful options!

Please complete this personalization form, and return it with payment (checks made payable to FPS) to the front office or to Vicky Mantell by Friday, January 28, 2018.

New Year, New Uniform Vendor ---   Lands' End
First grader Luke B. sports the new Lands' End polo shirt!
With the new year, we have a new uniform vendor: Lands' End. Lands' End is a nationwide company known for its strong customer service and durable fabrics, and you will find an efficient ordering process.

Students will still be able to wear their current uniform pieces through the 2017 ---  18 and 2018 ---  19 school years. Please view our ordering guidelines for all preschool through 8th grade campuses.

The daily and required formal uniform items have not changed, and you can complete all of your uniform ordering online. You can also visit South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, where there's a Lands' End inside the Sears store. The associates there can help you with sizing information, and you can place your preferred school order online via the store kiosk. And for the first time, families of preschool and pre-kindergarten children will find optional uniform items!

With more than 400 current and former players, the Southern California Stiga Table Hockey League (SCSTHL) is the largest table hockey club in the entire Western Hemisphere. Everyone who plays in a table hockey tournament receives a ranking from the International Table Hockey Federation (ITHF).

Many of the top "junior" players (younger than 18 years old) are from Fairmont Private Schools and from the other schools where Dr. Rafferty has served as campus director. The Top 18 junior players in the U.S. are from Southern California. In fact, 80 of the 87 junior table hockey players in the U.S. are from the SCSTHL.

Seven of the top 10 female table hockey players in the U.S. are from the SCSTHL. Of the 42 currently ranked female players in the U.S., 31 are from the SCSTHL.

Right now, there are 11,783 active table hockey players from countries all around the world who are ranked by the ITHF. Currently, the No. 1-ranked player in the world is Maxim Borisov from St. Petersburg, Russia. Borisov will turn 23 in 2018.

Huskies Dominate Avalon Games for Supportive Student Crowd
On Wednesday, January 17, Fairmont Prep hosted the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders from the Historic Anaheim, North Tustin, and Anaheim Hills campuses for a day of fun and Fairmont pride.

Hope Husky and the Fairmont Prep cheerleaders greeted the students as they came onto the campus. Once everyone was gathered, the students enjoyed healthy boxed lunches and face paintings.
