A Message from the Superintendent
Local police departments commended for contributions to the texting investigation.
Dr. Lynn Panega

Using the district's notification system, Lake Park High School emailed parents last night with an update about the ongoing texting investigation at West Campus. The case involves  a limited number of Lancer families who were receiving inappropriate and threatening text messages, outside of the school day, via an anonymous app.

On Thursday, January 18, the Bloomingdale Police Department issued a press release with a status update.  View a copy of the official press release .

The safety of our students and staff is always the highest priority of the administrative team. We have worked in step with the Bloomingdale and Roselle Police Departments who made this investigation a top priority and pursued all leads aggressively. Lake Park is grateful for their expertise, professionalism and dedication to the security of both campuses.

Lake Park takes all voiced matters of concern very seriously. The daily presence of West Campus School Resource Officer Schwytzer and East Campus School Resource Officer Forrest demonstrates the availability of law enforcement to anyone with questions or concerns. Information can also be shared privately via the district's Anonymous Tip Hotline at (630) 529-3001.

To the entire Lancer community, thank you for your cooperation and patience to help Lake Park maintain the integrity of this active investigation. We are grateful for the students, parents and staff who have come forward to provide helpful information and substantial evidence.
