Substance Exposed Infant Annual Conference
Building Pathways of Hope and Success for Families in Maine
|
|
This conference is an educational opportunity for clinicians, service providers, prevention specialists, community members, parents, and others to discuss the impact of prenatal substance exposure, how to prevent it, and ways to support families. The presenters for the day will provide a host of information related to Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome, and Breastfeeding implications. This vital information will be shared while also providing messages of hope that help is available for families and recovery is possible.

Objectives:
Upon successful completion of this conference, participants will be able to:
- Discuss Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders and Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and the impact on the family;
- Discuss the benefits and challenges of Breastfeeding the substance exposed infant;
- Identify the benefits of providing integrated care for opioid dependent pregnant women and their infants;
- Provide information about initiatives in Maine and work moving forward to improve outcomes for infants, children and families.
