Brrr!!! Nothing like being in a warm dance hall on a cold, winter's day! Squeezebox, with Mollie B and Ted Lange, continues its Texas tour in Cyclone and Round Top. The Western Dance Club will host the Red Ravens in DaCosta Saturday night, and Jerry Haisler & The Melody 5 will be at Sefcik Hall in Seaton Sunday evening.

Lots of country to choose from starting with Jeff Woolsey & The Dancehall Kings on Friday night at Lodge 88 in Houston. Charles & The Fab 4 are in Seguin Friday night and Sweet Home Sunday. More country Sunday: Sterling Country in Elgin, Most Wanted in Geronimo, Southern Breeze in Houston, and Monte Good in San Antonio.

Big doin's in Fredericksburg Saturday night with a benefit to raise money to rebuild Turner Hall, which was destroyed by fire on Father's Day in 2016. The event features a 42 tournament, auction, and dance with FOUR bands providing some great Texas music -  Sammy Geistweidt & The Wagon Aces, Koncrete Kings, Billy Burdett Band, & Quincy Harper. Also Saturday night, Houston Saengerbund will present its 3rd Annual German Vocal Competition, The Saengerbund Awards . The finals concert is a Liederabend featuring eight national finalists who will compete for $7500 in prize money. Each performer will perform two German selections from opera, operetta, Lieder , or folk songs. Read more.

A minister decided to do something a little different one Sunday morning. He said, "Today, in church, I am going to say a single word and you are going to help me preach.
Whatever single word I say, I want you to sing whatever hymn comes to your mind."

The pastor shouted out "CROSS." Immediately the congregation started singing in unison, "THE OLD RUGGED CROSS."

The pastor hollered out "GRACE." The congregation began to sing "AMAZING GRACE, how sweet the sound."

The pastor said, "POWER." The congregation sang "THERE IS POWER IN THE BLOOD."

The Pastor said "SEX." The congregation fell silent. Everyone was in shock. They all nervously began to look around at each other, afraid to say anything.

Then all of a sudden, way from in the back of the church, a little old 87-year-old grandmother stood up and began to sing, "PRECIOUS MEMORIES."
