Help Us Sound the Alarm in New Haven and Greater Providence!

We are sounding the Alarm to save lives in New Haven and Greater Providence and we need your help!

Every day seven people are killed and another 36 people suffer injuries as a result of home fires. And annually, the American Red Cross responds to nearly 64,000 disasters - the vast

majority of which are home fires.
To save lives and help end fire tragedies, the Red Cross launched a nationwide Home Fire Campaign in 2014. The goal of the campaign is to reduce the number of home fire deaths and injuries by 25 percent. The campaign includes Sound the Alarm, a series of home fire safety and FREE smoke alarm installation events and we are hosting two this spring in our area!

On Saturday, April 28, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., in New Haven and on Saturday, May 5, 2018  from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Greater Providence the Connecticut and Rhode Island Region of the Red Cross will be holding a home fire safety and FREE smoke alarm installation events with a goal to install 1,000 FREE smoke alarms on each day and we need YOU to make it happen!

You can help make your community safer in the following ways:

We are looking for volunteers to help us canvass neighborhoods in advance of the event dates and to make FREE home fire safety visits in these communities.
