2017-18 PTA Reflections Arts Program

Congratulations to all of our Discovery School PTA Reflections Arts Program participants! With 14 total entries in the state-level competition, Discovery School was well-represented this year!

A special congratulation goes out to Alisa Rowell (6th Grade) for receiving an Award of Merit from the State of Tennessee PTA Reflections Arts Program! Alisa's entry, entitled "A New Day is Within Reach", was recognized as a finalist in the state-level competition in the Photography category.

Discovery School PTA will hold an awards and recognition ceremony for all Discovery School PTA Reflections Arts Program participants after Spring Break and all entries will be on display at the school for everyone to enjoy!

For those interested in getting a "head start" on next year's PTA Reflections Arts Program, the 2018-19 theme, "Heroes Around Me", will surely spark imagination and creativity at home and in school.

Congratulations again to all of our 2017-18 PTA Reflections participants!

Security Procedures
Security Procedures:  Please read the following security adjustments or new procedures below:
  • We will require a government issued id (driver's license is the most common) of every person who enters our building (including those of you who are parents that we know very well).
  • Anyone who needs to enter the building after 3:00, will enter through the ESP entrance.  They will follow the same procedures as above for signing in and signing out of the building.
  • NO ONE will be permitted to enter the building through any door other than the front entrance from 7:30-3:00.  If you need to help your child with a project, snacks, etc., you will need to sign-in and leave an id, or leave the items at the front desk and we will assist your child with the items to the classroom.  If a person needs to enter the building before 7:30 or after 3:00, they must enter through ESP.
  • All clubs will be dismissed in the back loop, beginning Monday, February 26th.  We will dismiss exactly as we do when we dismiss regularly (K-2 parents, it is the same setup in the back as it is in the front, with few changes).  Parents must have their student's blue name sign.
    • If a parent needs to enter the building for the club, they will enter through ESP and follow sign-in and sign-out procedures.
  • There will be only one event per grade level per day.  This is to reduce the number of visitors in our building at one time to help us remain as secure as possible in these events.
