Meet the LUM Interns - Spring 2018
Rhyannon Barrett
Originally from Sweet Home, Oregon, Rhyannon now lives in Lafayette.
She is matriculating toward an Associates Degree in Human Services from Ivy Tech Community College. She will graduate in May 2018 and plans to pursue an advanced degree in Social Work.
As an intern at LUM, Rhyannon is working with the Good Samaritan Program & Emergency Shelter.
Kaitlyn Hettinger
Kaitlyn grew up and still lives in Lafayette.
She is matriculating toward an Associates Degree in Human Services from Ivy Tech Community College.
Kaitlyn will graduate in December 2018 and plans to pursue an advanced degree in Social Work.
As an intern at LUM, Kaitlyn is working with the After School Program.
Erice Perez
Originally from Avon, Erice now lives in West Lafayette.
She is matriculating toward a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science & Public Relations from Purdue University, West Lafayette. Erice will graduate in May 2018 and is planning on working for a non profit in the field of PR, with eventual plans to get a degree in law.
As the Klinker-Alting Intern at LUM, Erice is working with the Campaign for Hoosier Families.
Saedie Spikes
Originally from Fowler, Saedie now lives in Lafayette.
She earned an Associates Degree in Human Services from Ivy Tech Community College and is currently matriculating toward a Bachelor's Degree in Social Work from Indiana University – Purdue University in Indianapolis. Saedie will graduate from IUPUI in May 2018 and plans to pursue an advanced degree in Social Work.
As an intern at LUM, Saedie is working with the After School Program.

LUM Good Samaritan Fund Follies (4/13)
The 6th Annual LUM Good Samaritan Fund Follies —an evening of food, fun, fellowship and “follies”—benefits the LUM Good Samaritan Fund. Dinner and show are at St. Andrew United Methodist Church (West Lafayette) at 5:30 p.m. $45 per person. To make reservations, click HERE
LUM Camp (7/30-8/3)
LUM Camp is a week-long, overnight camp program at Hanging Rock Camp for children from 8 to 10 years old from low-income families. Volunteer camp counselors are needed. Why not make this year the year you say "yes" to being a LUM Camp Counselor? More
Hunger Hike (9/15-16)
Saturday, September 15 is the 5th Annual HH5K Run. Sunday (9/16) is the traditional Hunger Hike 3K Walk. Proceeds benefit LUM Food Programs, Food Finders Food Bank Inc., and St. Thomas Aquinas’ Haiti Ministry.

Annual LUM Staff Appreciation Lunch
Last week, the dedicated staff of Lafayette Urban Ministry gathered at Walt's Pub & Grill (West Lafayette) for the annual LUM staff appreciation lunch to celebrate 2017, another great year.

The FUNTASTICS Variety Show
The Delphi Opera House sets the stage for an evening of entertainment presented by professional performers PLUS a sampling of up-and-coming talent.
  • January 20 - 7:30 p.m.
  • January 21 - 2 p.m.
Magician, Bob Poynter emcees the evening that includes Lafayette’s own German Band, Broadway performers Ryan Strand (Jersey Boys) and Becca Kolha Strand (Wicked) singing Broadway Melodies, comedy vignette performed by Jan McGill and Doug Davis, singer/songwriter Nicky Kerr and her amazing voice, the engaging Scott Greeson and vocalist/music educator Pamela Adams sharing 1940s classics. Also introducing Orr Family Acapella and other local talent. January is looking pretty wonderful with Funtastics in the forecast. Check out the preview HERE .
