Sharing the Offering
In March, we will share our offering with Metro Trans Umbrella Group. MTUG is a grass roots nonprofit organization that is working to create a more inclusive and supportive community in St. Louis. The group was formed in 2013 to unite various groups that support transgender, gender queer, androgynous, intersex, and allied communities by providing education, advocacy, and visibility. See more at www.stlmetrotrans.com.

Immigration 101
Thursdays, March 22 & 29   6:00 - 8:00 pm
As people rooted in compassionate action, what is required of us? To do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly. This call to loving action echoes through every age, and in each season of our lives we must consider how to respond. As this course continues, we will learn more about the historical context of Latin American immigration to the US, the current state of US border and immigration policy, and the local impacts of these policies. We will also discuss how the orienting stories of different traditions all point us toward honoring the human dignity of all and welcoming the strangers among us. Eliot is honored to partner with the St. Louis Inter-Faith Committee on Latin America, Kirkwood UCC, and Congregation Shaare Emeth to offer this course which will be led by Sara John, Program Coordinator of the St. Louis IFCLA. Our time together will focus on discussion, small group work, and reflection. All are welcome! Please kindly RSVP on our Facebook event. Feel free to contact [email protected] with questions!

April Discernment
The Eliot Immigration Justice Team will hold a set of small group discussions in April to
encourage frank dialogue about motivations, logistics , strategy, and what actions fit our
mission, values and ends. The meetings are modeled on the successful discernment process utilized in April 2017 by the Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbia, Missouri. Please plan to attend at least one session to prepare for our church-wide vote at the Annual Meeting on May 20, 2018. You will find it helpful to follow the St Louis Inter-Faith Committee on Latin America website and Facebook page for sanctuary news and events, and the UUA website for theological reflections and law and policy explanations.

April SJA Assembly
Tuesday, April 3
7:15 pm
Ken Denson will present an educational outreach event that explores Climate Justice, first by establishing a common framework for understanding the Climate Crisis, and then by making the connection to its moral and justice implications. The presentation is very visual, pulling together information from several sources. Come learn more about this rapidly worsening crisis and our needed response.
