Science After School
Fall investigations
The ERC's Science After School (SAS) program wraps up this week at Hemingway STEAM School. Each Tuesday we worked with 15 enthusiastic 4th and 5th grade students.

This fall, students learned about local habitats by investigating soil, water, macroinvertebrates, seeds and more!  We are looking forward to winter and spring sessions at Alturas and Hailey Elementary Schools.

SAS is a FREE  six-week program that provides 4th-5th grade students opportunities beyond the school day to participate in project-based learning, within the context of natural science, the environment, and sustainability issues. We build opportunities for students to explore science through scientific research, exploration, observation, collaboration, games, art, journaling, and service learning.
Community Collaborations
Bellevue Elementary School Cub Council gets to work in the Howard Preserve

On November 2, the ERC partnered with the Bellevue Elementary School Cub Council and the Wood River Land Trust to clean-up the Howard Preserve for the winter.

This fifth grade student group met after school to learn about noxious weeds and stewardship; and then walked to the beloved Howard Preserve to remove noxious weeds and litter to promote healthy growth next spring! Many of these students frequently learn and play in the preserve which encouraged them to work hard to protect a special place.  Thank you students!
Giving Tuesday
Support ERC Programs!
Don't forget to include the ERC in your year end giving! This year on November 28, alongside our local and national nonprofit friends, we are participating in #GivingTuesday. We hope you will celebrate this special day with us by supporting the ERC and our other amazing nonprofits.  Together, we are creating a healthier environment and more vibrant community.
