REAA NEWSLETTER
A newsletter to keep you informed about what's "up with arts."

Letter from the BOD President:
Dear Members and Friends,

On February 21st, the REAA sponsored an event where Princess Anna from Frozen visited the Pediatric Wards at UMASS Memorial - Worcester Hospital.  The River's Edge Arts Alliance strongly believes in the importance of community outreach programs and partnerships!  It is our social responsibility to give back and share the beneficial power and joy of the arts with people from all walks of life, ages, and abilities through a variety of "arts for all" visual and performing arts programming.

st_patricks_day_gold.jpg We have two events to help you get your Irish on in preparation for St. Patrick's Day.  We are hosting a concert performed by the Irish group Banish Misfortune at Hudson Town Hall on March 10.  We are also hosting a Paint Night on March 14 where attendees will be guided through painting the Cliffs of Moher in Ireland.  Both events are open to the public.  Proceeds from both events will go toward supporting the Arts Alliance.

Registrations are now open for our 30th Annual Summer Drama Workshop program.  The River's Edge Players are also seeking actors for Theater for Young Audiences performances that will be taking place in late April.  The River's Edge Chorale will begin rehearsals the first Tuesday in April.

We also have some opportunities for Visuals Artists as well.  We are still accepting registrations for our next Art in the Hall exhibit.  We are also accepting applications for solo exhibits at Cafe 641.

Warm Regards,
Lisa Schliker -  REAA BOD President

The River's Edge Healing Gallery at UMASS Memorial-Marlborough Hospital enriches the patient and visitor experience and builds healthy community connection

Going to a hospital can be stressful, but art can soothe and enhance the healing process by creating calming focal points, offering a sense of hope and empowerment, and shifting focus away from medical issues and back toward a sense of normalcy.  We invite you to enjoy works by local artists in the Main Lobby and adjoining corridor.
