Safe Kids partners with the Local Child Abuse Awareness Effort

On April 28th, 11am-2pm on the Green in Wellsboro, the Tioga County Partnership's Safe Kids workgroup will be supporting the Tioga County Dept.of Human Services event that will shed light on one of society's most devastating social ills: child abuse.
"In Pennsylvania alone, Children’s Advocacy Centers (CAC's) served more than 11,000 children in need over the course of 2014. In the first 3 months of 2015, most CAC's saw a 30% increase of the children served..."(

Five Full-time Collection Sites in Tioga County
|
|
Elkand Borough Police Dept. is now a full-time secure collection site for your unused/unwanted prescription medications. In Tioga County, there are five full-time medication collection sites with permanently installed secure med-return boxes in Wellsboro, Westfield, Gaines, Blossburg, and Elkland. Don't forget to clean out your medicine cabinets during your spring cleaning this year!
Also, National Prescription Drug Take Back Day is on April 28th, 10am-2pm. Return unwanted/unused medications to participating locations (to be listed

The PA State Attorney General's Janene Holter will be speaking about Scams and Identity Theft. Jeffrey Dauber will present for the Alzheimer's Association, and Wellsboro Police Dept.'s Jim Bodine will speak about the importance of proper prescription medication disposal.
