DIOCESAN SCHOLARS ANNOUNCED

Congratulations to Julia Mayro, Siena Wanders, and Tess White, our Diocesan Scholars for the 2018-2019 school year.

Thank you to all the highly-qualified juniors who applied for the program. The selection process entailed two important elements: the application and the interview. The applications afforded the students the opportunity to highlight their current courses, grades, and GPA, and to provide teacher recommendations. Applicants' personal essays demonstrated their creativity and uniqueness of writing. The interview allowed students to meet with teachers and administrators and showcase their ability to respond to questions with depth and detail, and to articulate their desire and ability to be a diocesan scholar.

NATIONAL CATHOLIC SISTERS WEEK

NCSW is an annual celebration that takes place from March 8-14. Created to honor women religious, it is a series of events that bring greater focus to the lives of these incredible women. It's our chance to recognize all they have done for us. It's also our hope that as more young women learn about women religious, more will choose the vocation.

TFT ENGLAND EXPLORER 2018 TRIP -by Julia Hirth, '18

London is an incredible city with rich culture. There is so much to see, and opportunities are everywhere to experience new things.  While on the trip, not only do you get a better knowledge on Shakespeare and life in the 16th century, but you also learn how to navigate your way on London's Underground, familiarize yourself with a new currency, and get to know what life is like in one of the greatest cities on earth. You quickly become comfortable with your surroundings and how everything works, and when the time comes to leave, you are tempted to drop everything and stay. Traveling to London with SBA through Travel For Teens was an experience that I will take with me for the rest of me life because it was one of the greatest things to ever happen to me.
