School Spotlights

Meet Mr. Nguyen

Mr. Nguyen has been part of the Saint Lawrence Community since February 2017. When asked what he loves about SLEMS, he said " I love the sense of community and camaraderie". Some interesting facts about Mr. Nguyen are that he has a fear of snakes, loves to travel and to experience new places.

Did You Know?

Did you know o ur Middle School Social Studies Teacher, Mr. Pingel, is incorporating the musical Hamilton into his lessons with 8th grade? He is using a multi-sensory approach to help students learn about the Revolutionary War while making learning engaging and fun!

Creative Writing and Social Issues

4
^th Grade is connecting art with writing this week. The students are making peace doves and writing about ways that they can model after Martin Luther King Jr. by promoting peace.

Join us in supporting 8th Grade by bringing $5 for non-uniform dress on 1/19.

Winter Olympics T-Shirt Design Contest!

Calling any student interested in showing off their artistic interest to design our 2018 Winter Olympics T-shirt. Students can submit their entries no later than Tuesday, Jan. 23rd.

Middle School Science Fair Community Viewing

All are invited to view the Science Fair projects of 6th, 7th, and 8th graders on Thursday, January 25 from 3-4 p.m. and Friday, January 26 from 7:30-8 a.m. inside the Community Center Gym. Some posters will also be on display during the Open House on Sunday, January 28 from 11-1p.m.

Used Uniform Sale On 1/25

We are having a Used Uniform Sale on January 25th from 2:30-4:30p.m. in the Parish Hall. We have a HUGE inventory so make sure to stop by and check out this awesome sale!

January Open House Is 1/28/2018

Spread the word and receive service hour credits and more!

All are invited to attend our School Sponsored Mass at 10:00am, followed by the Open House event from 11:00am-1:00pm. This is a great opportunity to visit your Student's classroom for next year and to meet the Teacher. Please view the New Student Referral Program Flyer for more info. Hope to see you there!

Saint Lawrence Students who attend Mass in their SCHOOL UNIFORMS will have NON-UNIFORM on Friday, Feb. 2nd!

Catholic Schools Week Kicks Off With Open House Jan. 28, 2018!

Sunday, Jan. 28th- School Sponsored Mass 10a.m. and Open House 11-1p.m.

Monday, Jan.29th- Catholic Schools Mass at St. Joseph Cathedral and School- Site Tours

Tuesday, Jan. 30th- Parent Appreciation

Wednesday, Jan. 31st- Volunteer Appreciation, Volunteers attend Mass and receive a Special Blessing and Refreshments

Thursday, Feb. 1st- Student Appreciation Non-Uniform and No Homework Day

Friday, Feb. 2nd- Teacher Appreciation

Please note the entire week is Early Dismissal, 12:40p.m.

Conference Sign-Ups

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held the week of Jan. 29th-Feb. 2nd.

Sign ups will be available on Jan. 19th at 3pm via Parent Square.

Would you like to be a Science Fair Judge?

Adults wishing to volunteer from 8am-2pm on Friday January 26, 2018 to evaluate and interview middle school students regarding their science fair projects, please sign up on Parent Square or emails Mrs. Varnau (Mrs. V) at [email protected]. You will earn hours for participating. Thank you for helping the next generation of STEM careers.
