Diversified Electric Moving Headquarters to Commerce City

Diversified Electric is expanding and moving its headquarters to 9622 Hanover Court West in Commerce City. Currently located in Denver, the company has outgrown the space it currently leases. Diversified Electric plans to build a 12,950-square-foot building with an 8,750-square-foot maintenance shop and 4,200-square-foot of office space. The move brings up to 60 new jobs to the city and a capital investment of $1.5 million. The company aims to begin operations in Commerce City by first quarter 2019. Diversified Electric provides services in industrial controls, commercial construction and maintenance.
Learn How to Build a Business Plan - Scholarships Available

Entrepreneurs and future business owners are encouraged to apply for scholarships to attend the 
Basic Business Plan in a Day  workshop offered by the North Metro Denver Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at the Commerce City Small Business Resource Center on Saturday February 17 at 7270 Monaco Street. Students will be taught how to build a vision, mission, company goals, marketing strategies and a financial forecast in one day. In order to qualify for one of the limited number of scholarships for the workshop, individuals must email  [email protected]  and register for One-on-One consulting to further develop their business plan.
Advanced Industries Accelerator Grant Program Now Accepting Applications

The Colorado Office of Economic Development and International Trade (OEDIT) is accepting applications for its Advanced Industries (AI) Accelerator Grant program. Proof of Concept grants of up to $150,000 may be awarded to companies for pre-commercialization research and commercialization preparation. Apply by the deadline of March 1. 

Early State Capital and Retention grants of up to $250,000 may be awarded to companies for innovative technologies that are created or manufactured in Colorado and exported globally. The deadline is also March 1. 

Infrastructure grant applications will be due April 1 and will be awarded to companies that pursue collaborative projects that have a broad impact across one or more of the advanced industries within Colorado. Learn more about Advanced Industries.
Save the Date for the Business Appreciation Breakfast!

The Commerce City Business Appreciation Awards Breakfast recognizes businesses, individuals and organizations that have made contributions to the economic vitality of the city. This year's event is scheduled for March 1, 2018 at the Yellow Rose Event Center, 6490 E. 72 nd Place, from 7:30-9 a.m., with networking and registration from 7-7:30 a.m. Awards are given in four categories:

  • Entrepreneurial Spirit
  • Economic Development Award for Leadership
  • Business of the Year Award

Risas Dental and Braces Announces New Location

Risas Dental and Braces has announced a new location planned for 6091 Dexter Street. This location will have 25 employees and will accommodate 2,500 patients a month. The 3,750-square-foot location expects to open by October of this year.
