HYDE PARK, NY -- The Franklin D. Roosevelt Presidential Library and Museum, the
Poughkeepsie Journal and the Office of the Dutchess County Historian will present
"Democracy in Dutchess"
-- a conversation on over 300 years of political life in Dutchess County -- at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 in the Henry A. Wallace Center at the FDR Presidential Library and Home.
Opening remarks will be made by Dutchess County Historian
William P. Tatum III
. The discussion will be moderated by Library Director

In 2013, the
Poughkeepsie Journal
worked with the Office of the Dutchess County Historian, Dutchess Tourism and noted historians throughout the county to produce
DEMOCRACY IN DUTCHESS: 300 YEARS OF COUNTY POLITICAL LIFE
-- an heirloom-quality, coffee-table book. This one-of-a-kind publication features images from every corner of Dutchess County and contributions by more than 20 historians including many photographs that had before been published. Copies of the book will be available for purchase after the program.
