The Reverend Marilyn Kendrix will be our guest preacher on Sunday, January 21. Her sermon about a Christian response to mass incarceration will be titled "Sudden Insight".

Rev. Kendrix is involved in
the Malta Justice Initiative, and partnered with 7 other writers to write a book, "The Justice Imperative: How Hyper Incarceration Hijacked the American Dream"
(September 2014, Significance Press). The book focuses on the problem of mass incarceration in Connecticut and provides 30 recommendations for bringing it to an end.

The children are asked to bring a
WEEKLY OFFERING
to Sunday School, either in the form of money or a non-perishable food item for the Corner Food Pantry. All offerings received leave the church as aid to those in need.

Beginning in January, Erin Swett, LCSW, will be leading our Youth Discussion Group on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of every month. All youth grades 6-12 are invited to participate!

Number of Individuals Served: 887
Number of Meals provided: 7983
Pounds of Food (Estimate): 9600
Weekly Averages:
They average 50 households per week/ 222 clients per week/ 1996 meals per week/ 2400 pounds of food.

Parsonage Sale and Use of Proceeds:
Summary from the Trustees
|
At our April meeting, the Trustees unanimously agreed to recommend the sale of the parsonage. The congregation voted to sell the parsonage at our 2017 annual general meeting, and we closed the sale of the parsonage in December. The amount received at closing, prior to disbursements, was $478,477. Net proceeds after disbursements and other sales expenses were $409,775. Approximately $418,644 was sent to our Investment Account managed by Fiera Capital.
