AVID Program Helps Prepare Palm Beach County Students for Postgraduate Success

Currently offered at 44 schools throughout the District , the Advancement Via Individual Determination ( AVID ) program is designed to prepare students for success in high school, college and career. The program offers both academic and social support to students, while fostering an atmosphere of positive peer pressure. Th e ultimate goal of the AVID program is to close the achievement gap by preparing all students for college and other postsecondary opportunities.

While surprising James Gray with the #ThankATeacherPBC Teacher of the Week Award at Santaluces Community High School last week, we asked students and faculty to explain the significance of the program and the difference it has made in their lives.
