I can hardly believe it's less than one month until the Born to Be Brave Tour arrives at Saxe Gotha! This ministry has been in the works for over one year and we are expecting God to show up and show out! We are excited to welcome the Born to Be Brave team and hundreds of guests on Friday, April 13 from 6:30-9:00 pm in the Lighthouse.

Born to be Brave (which we call the boys equivalent to Secret Keeper Girl) was born of a vision from Dannah and Bob Gresh from Pure Freedom Ministries. Secret Keeper Girl has been to Lexington twice, and it has had a powerful impact on Saxe Gotha and the Lexington community! We are excited to see the same impact on boys and dads with the Born to Be Brave Tour.

Why Born to Be Brave?  We understand dads. They have questions. "Do I have what it takes to lead my son? To connect with him in a meaningful way? Am I the man that he needs me to be?" The answers to all of those questions is a bold "YES!". You are the man that God has put in his life. And God has qualified you and equipped you for the job. Here is the truth: dads don't need a bigger to-do list. And sons don't need a perfect father. All your son needs is you!

At Born to be Brave, You'll learn how to: connect with your son in ways that are NOT awkward and discover the simple things you can do to go from being an active father to a strategic father. Most importantly, instead of leaving with more TO DO's, you'll leave knowing all that has already BEEN DONE for you to be the role model you've always wanted to be for your son. And you're going to leave feeling brave. After all, you were Born to be Brave!

Tickets are on sale in the narthex and atrium after each service on Sundays, at the church office or online at https://borntobebrave.brushfire.com/events/441791. If ticket price is an issue for you or someone you would like to see attend this event, please see me!

If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please email me at [email protected]. We need lots of hands on deck to open the doors to our neighbors for this event.

In Christ's love,
Lori Lowman

South Sudan Update: In February, Saxe Gotha's Greg Force spent a week in a South Sudanese Refugee Camp in Kenya.  With the conflict continuing and a World Food Program assessment that looks like this, you can understand why over 2.1 million have fled the country.  Greg and the rest of the team did a great job of treating ill refugees; distributing Talking Bibles (about $5,000 worth); preaching about Christ's commands and the necessity to obey them; and training on forgiveness, trauma healing and peacemaking.

We will be collecting for Change for Sudan on April 8.  Please help us to continue this work.
THERE IS STILL TIME TO JOIN OUR BELIZE MISSION TEAM.
The list of people joining our Belize Mission trip team is growing but we are hoping to add some more members. The dates are July 30 - August 6 and the total cost is $1500. We will be working with children in two different villages in southern Belize.   If you would like to sign up or just want more information, please contact Eve Barker at  [email protected] .

Stephen Ministry  is our congregation's one-to-one care giving ministry. These connections are confidential and matched up by gender. God works through Stephen Ministers to plant a seed of hope and healing in a person whose life seems barren and forlorn because of crisis or tragedy.  What do Stephen Ministers do?  These individuals listen to people in need, explore feelings, pray, share Christ's love, maintain confidentiality, and attend to the care-giving process, while leaving the results to God.  Stephen Ministers have big hearts.  If you are feeling unloved or need a friend, contact  Carol Perrin  at (803)917-6690 , the referral coordinator. Please know that your identity and requests are kept confidential.
