As Black History Month (February) ends, Women’s History Month (March) begins. Diversity has been an issue of great discussion recently, in all parts of U.S. society, and the cable industry – from the front office to onscreen – has been no different.

Comcast commemorates Black History Month

In celebration of Black History Month, Comcast partnered with City of Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner, to honor 10 Houstonians for their commitment to making a difference in the community. As part of the recognition, each honoree will be featured in a 30-second Public Service Announcement that will air on Comcast cable. In addition, Comcast NBCUniversal will also donate $1,000 to the nonprofit organization of the honoree’s choice. Read more .

Altice USA connects with kids

Altice recently sponsored the 3rd Annual Robotics and Inventions Competition at the San Angelo Stock Show and Rodeo. More than 200 students in grades 3-12 conceptualized, built, and programmed robots to complete a series of tasks based on this year’s theme, Mission to Mars.
