Capture a hint of spring among the almond blossoms at three adjacent farms in Woodland! Featuring Bullseye Farm, Klein Farm and Y Aoki Inc.
"Nothing but blossoms as far as you can see" says Chris Ochoa, of Klein Farm. He and his wife Tami will welcome artists to the property which was settled by Chris' grandfather, Jack Klein, in 1962.
Mr. Klein started out farming 100 acres and today the family farm operates a total of 5000 acres. His grandsons,Chris and Mark, now run the farming operation, although at 89 years young, Jack still makes his daily rounds checking all the fields.
This 240-acre property has been farmed by Mr. Klein for 56 years. In 2013, his grandsons planted the almond orchard which surrounds the Abele family homestead built in the 1930s. Artists may drive up to the top of the rise which offers a panoramic view overlooking 1200 acres of blossoms including the orchards of Bullseye Farm and Y Aoki Inc to the north. Another point of interest is a crater at the top of the hill - an
historic spot where the original settlers first came to the valley.
"This orchard is our family's favorite by far. We love the look of the rolling hills and the view of the Sutter Buttes on a clear day!" says Tami.
A map will be available to the artists when they arrive which will include directions to Bullseye Farm and Y Aoki Inc whose orchards who will also be available for artists to visit. Look for Art and Ag signs along the road and entrances. Our thanks to all three farms for generously hosting Art and Ag artists!
